Рассмотрен ряд аспектов вооруженного выступления Чехословацкого легиона против Советской власти в России в 1918—1920 гг. Проанализированы предпосылки военных действий с акцентом на подходы, существующие в современной историографии, и их генезис. Описаны боевые действия с участием легиона (с акцентом на роль в них держав Антанты) и специфика действий военнослужащих легиона на захваченных территориях. Дана критика ряда популярных концепций. Предложены выводы для адекватной оценки воздействия Чехословацкого легиона на события в России.

The article describes a number of aspects of the Czechoslovak Legion armed uprising against Soviet rule in Russia in the 1918—1920. Key topics covered in this article: background of military operations with an emphasis on approaches that exist in modern historiography and their genesis; a brief description of the fighting, which involved the legion, with emphasis on their role in the Allied powers; the specificity of action of the Legion soldiers in the occupied territories. We give a critique of a number of common now concepts. On the basis of analysis as a source of well-known and previously unpublished archival material offers a number of conclusions to an adequate assessment of the impact of the Czechoslovak Legion to events in Russia.
