Veteran of Soviet secret service general-lieutenant Nikolai Leonov remembers about the tragic achievements which took place in Moscow 25 years ago. The author was not only an eyewitness, but a participant of these in the same time. He explains in detail about the situation of 1991 summer, about the causes of spontaneous and not prepared (in his opinion) revolt of the superior Soviet leaders (the so named putsh) and about the aims of the participants. The author discusses the possibility of secret agreement of putshists with Boris Yeltsin. He narrates about the posterior destinies of ex-putshists and other participants.
