Рассмотрена эволюция понятия «патриотизм», проанализированы его этимология, содержание и значение с древности до наших дней, в том числе в истории России. Обращается внимание на толкование понятия «патриотизм» представителями не только различных эпох и народов, но и конфессиональных, политических и профессиональных сообществ. Утверждается, что патриотизм присущ всем сферам жизни общества и характеризует высший уровень духовно-нравственного развития личности, проявляющегося в ее активной самореализации на благо своего Отечества.

Describes the evolution of the concept of “patriotism”, analyzes its etymology, content and meaning of this concept from antiquity to the present day, including Russian history. Also draws attention to the interpretation of the term “patriotism” is not only the representatives of the various eras and peoples, but also representatives of the religious, political and professional communities. In article affirms, that patriotism is inherent in all areas of a life of a society and characterizes a highest level of spiritually-moral progress of the person shown in its active self-realization for the blessing of the Fatherland.
