The soviet intelligence veteran retired general-lieutenant Nikolay Leonov shares his memories about events happened in our country twenty five years ago. The author was not only their spectator but also their active participant till certain time. He tells about the situation which was emerged in the country after the action in August 1991 taken by the group of Soviet state leaders named “the coup”. The author analyzes causes and consequences of Belavezha backstage collusion between the then leaders of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus which led to the dissolution of such a great world power as the USSR. He focuses on the role that Yeltsin and his team played in these tragic events.
