The monograph by E. G. Ponomareva and G. A. Rudov is devoted to the causes of complex transformational changes in world politics since late twentieth century. Using rich theoretical and empirical material, the book explores the main interests and directions of activity of the leading players in world politics — states, transnational and supranational structures, non-state actors (NGOs, the media, social networks). In particular, a large part of the work deals with to the analysis of the essence of the “colour revolutions” phenomenon. As the regional cases of the investigation the Balkans and Central Asia are chosen. The authors present a large-scale, but capacious picture of the world politics at the turn of the century (1985—2015).
