Работа является еще одним опытом прочтения знаменитых «Стихов о неизвестном солдате» Осипа Мандельштама. Акцент делается не на семантике текста и не на его поэтике, а на попытке поэта дать голос «сообществу мертвых». Сам этот парадоксальный образ находится на грани представления. Он заявляет о себе в виде особой геоэтики, в которой стихия общности сопричастна стихии земли и неотделима от нее. Мандельштамовские стихи позднего периода рассматриваются как способ обнаружить в языке доязыковой аффективный пласт, своеобразный синтаксис забытых стихий.

 

Comradeship of the Earth. Ethics of Communality in Osip Mandelstam’s “Verses on the Unknown Soldier”

 Abstract:  The paper is another reading of Osip Mandelstam’s famous “Verses on the Unknown Soldier”. The analysis focuses on neither the semantics of the poem nor its poetics, but on the poet’s intention to let the “community of the dead” be heard. This paradoxical image is at the very limit of representation. It manifests itself as a special kind of geoethics, in which communality understood as element partakes of another element, the earth, and is inseparable from it. Mandelstam’s late poems are treated as a way of uncovering in language an affective pre-linguistic layer, a syntax of forgotten elements.
