I thought that the two forums that I attended were a fantastic opportunity to meet people who share similar concerns. It was excellent that a range of Russian political scientists and scholars in general were invited. I very much enjoyed talking with them, and exchanging views. In many ways, this was perhaps the most valuable part of the Forum
The process of nation and state building in Russia is very different from that in the United States. The United States is a relatively new nation, whereas Russia is one of the oldest. There are two key points to consider: first, the political form of the state; and second, the forging of a modern nation.
The appointment of the Nobel laureate Roger David Kornberg as co-chairman of the Scientific and Technical Board for the project of innovation and modernization in Skolkovo is a positive factor for Russia, and one that should be welcomed in every possible way.
