The article analyzes the experience of creating a unique political-educational institution that combines education for top leaders of the Communist Party of China with scientific studies, which is typical for the informational and analytical structures («think tanks»). The main attention is paid to the origins, mission, functions, evolution of topics of training sessions for the CCP Politburo members and results of these sessions.
