The article analyzes the basic concepts of the evolution of the artistic life, related to a strictly formalized quantitative methods and mathematical models. The studies of evolutionary dynamics of the artistic life, made under the Colin Martindale’s School (the concept of “arousal potential”) are considered. The diverse empirical studies of the artistic life based on the basic provisions of the system-information paradigm (Abraham Mole, Sergey Yu. Maslov, German A. Golitsyn, Vladimir M. Petrov) are systematized. The author notes the general heuristic potential use of quantitative models and quantitative methods in the study of the evolution of the artistic style of life and the various forms of art, explains the mechanism of periodic variation of the artistic life and is a condition of its evolution, emphasizes the presence of 50- year cycles of vibration in the socio-psychological sphere and art
